Visit the restored Demeter’s temple in Sangri from circa 530 B.C. and the museum with local findings. (Please note: The archaeological site of the Temple of Demeter is shut every Tuesday from the 1st of May 2022 and onwards. During our tour we will visit the site as you can actually see the temple from afar without needing to enter and your guide will give you all the historical details.)
Visit the traditional farm of Giannis and his wife Katerina and become a farmer for one day. After your guided tour on the farm and the milking of the animals it is time to roll up your sleeves and make traditional cheese Kefalotiri with the help and instructions of Giannis. A process of preparation that is done in the same traditional way that was done by his father and grandfather many years ago and which is not a reminiscent of the modern way of making cheese. Then you will enjoy this and the other types of traditional cheese from Naxos accompanying them with a glass of wine from the farm vineyard.
